Muor!
The right spelling is Muar but Muor is how the locals pronounced it. On our own, we would never have thought Muar a place to stay for any length of time. But thanks for a few friends who hails from the place a group of us went for a weekend retreat with cycling, food and sightseeing as the main agenda. And a worthwhile visit it was. More so for the few friends who used to lived there decades ago. The town itself is largish and busy with traffic. Good to see that many pre-war shophouses and buildings were still standing and in use. The most beautiful being the mosque built during the earlier part of the century, and it was nicely painted in blue. Food was much cheaper compared to KL/Putrajaya. There's no cycle lane around town but the traffic was not intimidating. Outside of town there were less traffic and we were riding on the road at all times and felt very safe. The place is famous for local coffee called 434 - that's what we had for the two days' there every time we had our meals and in between - I've never drunk so many cups of coffee in a day!
