It is interesting to see how rich people make the whole world their stage, moveing from one country to another to escape from war, uncertainty or seeking better fortunes. How rich is this family? The man had a saving kept in a swiss bank in gold that weighs 2 tonnes.
The author's problems began after her father remarried - no guessing here - classic step-mother problems. However she managed to go to London to study & become a doctor & settled down in the US.
