It was a lifetime experience to be able to visit far-away places. Previously I have only been to Schipol Airport on a transit. This time around we stayed for a week in a proper house ( two houses actually.)
Things are expected to be run well and efficiently in developed countries and they were in Holland. From the airport to the highways, roads network, buses and trains, we experienced them all and had no complaint...well maybe except for the prices. Petrol was about EU1.70/lit.
We had most of our meals in the house - that saved us quite a bit.
Infrastructures in the country are tidy and well maintained. And of course we were looking forward to use the bicycle lanes - they were everywhere. It seems like they have completed their bicycle infra throughout the country.
