Big lift

The first big lift is scheduled today 22nd August. Yesterday workers were rushing to put steel pieces together and it looks like they had to work in the evening. Its a risky operation, I hope and pray that there'd be no untoward incident.

Going strong since 1998

It was commisioned just before the 1998 Commonwealth Games in KL. Been riding this train every working day for more than a year now and except for maybe 2 or 3 occassions the service runs ok. But the train does look old and unpolished. The good news is that new trains are already ordered from China to replace these old workhorses once the lrt extension project is completed maybe in 2-3years' time.

Farewell KAS Satria

Had last drive and glance at the ever faithful Satria yesterday. It was taken away for shipping to KK.
Had the head gasket changed 3 days ago because it was leaking oil. The job costs RM500.00. 2 months ago had the throttle body changed for RM600.00.
Just for the record the car costs about RM52K in 1998. The car rides and handles wel.Sold it for RM5K in 2014. Mileage about 190,000km. The new owner need to keep up the maintenance and do a couple other things but at the price and the condition it is very good value for money.
We have travelled to all the states in the peninsular when we first got the car. In one particular incident on the way from KT to KB we had to turn back before reaching KB due to floods. We had to cross about 17 places where water was high before reaching Grand Cont hotel. The car's front number plate was lost-must have been swept by the waters.

The Mall

The Mall and the adjoining Legend Hotel been bought by the Sunway group thus renamed Sunway Putra Mall and Sunway Putra Hotel. The building is undergoing massive renovation. The mall is being added floor space and the huge glass front is gone.

Saying goodbye to this old horse. Some repairs required but there's still a lot of life in it if taken good care of. Handled very well and never let us down. About 10k short of 200km.
