Bukit Cerakah again

So we decided to walk on 27th Oct Sunday instead of the usual morning ride for a simple reason so that we could convene somewhere near here for a jamming session afterwards. Hilly Bukit Cerakah is ideal for walks not just because it's hilly, it is also shady due to the many tall trees around. It is a great place to be and on a Sunday the place is jam-packed with people. I'm sure that's the situation every weekend - people like the natural outdoor. I hope that the authorities would not allow any more of the area for so-called development.
As it is though the place is popular amongst citizen, the place is not being well taken care of. The roads around the place is good as do the bus service but a number of attractions are not maintained as highlighted in a national newspaper recently. Park keepers are not visible - I thought they should show their presence to visitors cheerfully welcoming them.

Cycling weekend

Was looking forward to the weekend after the holidays (means travelling and eating!) Many of the usual gang were not free to cycle or been outstation since Friday evening. Very quiet on Sat morning too so decided to go on the MTB for a change. The front tire has lost all air and the rear one just need topping up. After pumping both tires and putting some oil on the chain I was good to go. Bike feels good and the brakes worked fine so did a 30km ride which included a short stretch in wetland. The place looked pleasantly familiar and quiet. The swan has lost its partner it seems and that's a bit sad.
Sunday was totally different scene altogether - rode with a group of about 50 riders on all kinds of bike. I was worried about the group being so huge luckily no mishap happened. One bike got a puncture and that about the only incident. We started rolling at about 8.20am and were back to the car park at 11am. Distance were 21km and just the right distance for not knowing the capabily of the riders. Some riders  obviously could do longer distance but we were more concerned about the less strong ones. Judging from the photos and responses on FB people were happy.

There used to be a pair of them.

The inevitable had to happen, but no big deal, provided you carry spares and tools.

1/3 of the time

A third of the time of the contract period of 24 months - that's how much time we've gone through thus far and the work is about 10% done as per schedule. It is quite normal for any project to have a slow beginning period, but now we have about 85% progress that needs to be achieved for the whole of next year. It will be a very busy year for the contractors as well as us. The past two weeks has seen slow progress though some work managed to get done. I thought we should move faster and I think it can be done.
