Uke!

With just 4 strings it should be easy to play. That's a myth according to a web site. All musical instruments are not easy to play.. well especially if you don't have music ears. In my view it is amazing that some people can play "by ear" any musical instruments. In another attempt to play some kind of music I've just acquired a ukulele - for RM310 and that includes a bag and a tuner. Not the cheapest in the shop though far from the hi-end ones. It may not be the only ukulele I'll own looking by the number of ukes people own on youtube.

A milestone

In spite of rain almost on a daily basis some concreting managed to be done. The first time that concrete was poured in any substantial amount which is a good thing for it signals the start of superstructure works which if done according to plan can been seen visually fast moving. On another area foundation works is still going on and hopefully the weather holds.

Cleared CC debt

At long last managed to clear cc debt except for previous month's purchases of about RM500. Took me more than 3 years to clear well... quite a large sum by our standard. Monthly interest was always more than RM100 and over the years must have paid thousands in interest. Relieved that now an episode is over we must keep our expenses in check with costs of living rising all around. Food prices at the supermarket is noticeably higher on my last visit though prices on some items remained the same. I think it will be a matter of time - and it will be soon - before their prices will go up as well. It will not be easy - though can be done- to reduce expenses since we are already thrifty spenders as far as travelling and food goes. So we'll need to look into other areas to save.

Birthdays

We are not among ones who take birthdays as a day to be grandly celebrated, remembered or fussed about. So though we remember each other's  birth date in the family we never went bigger than a low-keyed dinner someplace near where we live. I can't remember having my name written on a cake! Did not put my birth date on FB either to escape all the familiar greetings on social network. But our IC numbers gave the game away so for the first time this year I got a cake with candles and my name on it. It was presented in a restaurant we frequent with the gang and as on several previous occassions it was the usual cycling gang who brought the cake as a surprise. Anyway birthdays are a good reminder of moving times and it is good to be among friends.
