Serious Play

Serious play for youngsters and adults alike – they are all provided for at Taman Cabaran Putrajaya. While the mountain-bike trail is the most popular, other facilities provided are no less challenging or interesting though I wonder why there aren’t many users. Wall-climbing and skateboard park (in picture) are two of excellent facilities provided. Youngsters today have so many options on what to do with their free time such that there’s absolutely no reason for them to just sit around doing nothing.

Taman Tasek Cyberjaya

First time cycling to this lakeside park. It's about 15km from Umai in Putrajaya and we arrived late morning and there were few visitors. Very nice and beautiful park I thought but not very well maintained though we saw workers trimming grass. A wooden plank on the floating bridge going to Wind Chime Island was broken. Worst a foot/cycle bridge at the far end of the footpath was totally closed because the wooden planks on it were rot/broken. Surely it doesn't cost much to replace those. There were also signs of someone having a campfire - this should not be allowed indiscriminately. It's a nice little place the authorities must take care for the residents to enjoy.

One Full Circle

I've come full circle as far as the work here is concerned. Problems arise when I was here and now more than 3 years later I have to be here and help solve some if not most of the problems. We all should be thankful to the authorities for funding the project - a most important ingredient for anything to be moving - all 10 millions quids of it.

Semenyih-Lenggeng

There's this 50+km loop begins in Semenyih, through the Lekas Hiway, to Lenggeng and on to Semenyih in an almost circular loop. We last did the ride in May and today October 13th did another ride on exactly the same route. A bit slower today compared to the ride in May:

I think this is an excellent route - it got fast stretches (though undulating) on the hiway, steep climbs and roller coaster ride once we turned off the hiway. And the smell - on at least 2 stretches the smell was really bad especially near the chicken farm while on the hiway. Today we were blessed with cloud cover for 50km, but on the last 3km the rain came pouring down. Managed to take refuge in a shophouse but we were drrenched wet by then. Quite an experience riding in the rain. Thank God no untoward incident today & all 11 riders got back to base safely.

Keropok Leko

Leko should really be spelled lekor. Saw these big pots at a keropok leko place near the airport in Kuala Terengganu. They use  firewood to boil the susages-like keropok. Bought RM30 worth to bring home and got a pleasant surprise when the told that it tasted good and better than the ones we previously bought at the more famous location in Losong.
