PIPR #14 Feb 26th.2012- Another Mass Ride

Missed the last (2?) edition of the Putrajaya Inter-Park Ride ride, so it seemed like a good time to ride en-massed again. This time the number of riders that turned up was the most so far - more than 3,000 - in support of the organiser's attempt to put a mark in the Malaysian Book of Records. There's a bit of a mess during registration I hope they do get the record they're after. The weather was excellent, marshalls did a good job, bananas at the pit stop were abundant, each rider were given a t-shirt and riders need not pay a single sen. I thought everyone went home happy.

Riding Putrajaya

It's hard to find a more conducive place to ride a bicycle other than in Putrajaya. Though hardly anyone rides to work, riders from the surrounding areas and from as far as Klang come over during the weekends(sometimes weekdays too) to ride their bicycle. There are dedicated cycle tracks round the lakes which provide a safe route as well as beautiful scenery; the roads are wide and not busy like other urban centers so riding along these roads are safe too. Accidents can and do happen so safety during riding is paramount.
