Back to Wetland


Must have been at least 3 months since last I took the mountain bike out. It just needs a bit of air and I just took off. As I neared the usual RV location someone msg saying he's coming so that really made my day as there's not a soul at the car park where usually there's a buzz a 8am. So off we go in excellent weather and managed a total distance of about 30km and estimated 1000+ kcal dispensed.

Brooks.




The MuP8 got a new saddle after 3 years. The biologic that comes with the bike showed a bit of wear so I thought a new saddle is due. It arrived 15 days after confirmed despatched by Evans Cycle UK. Cost is BP48.33. Also ordered the proofide at BP7.49. The (expensive) 3/4length shorts costs 41.66 is a bit small, or rather my waist have grown from the last time I measured it. Now what I intend to do is to reduce my waistline by about 2 inches then I'd fit nicely into it. I'll give myself say 6 months to do it.

Coconuts!


This coconut is of a different species compared to the one I used to see in our rural areas; the fruit exterior look smooth, nice looking in yellow, smaller and the tree shorter. But the young coconut water and flesh taste awesome! However it's one thing to get the fruit and another to get it to open unless you have the right tool. Give some coconuts to a group of people and see if they can open it up without the proper equipment - the result would be one hilarious episode of nut cracking!

Lotus



Lotus field in KL? Yes there is, near Kepong at a park called Taman Metropolitan. The only place where I know lotus grow in abundance was in disused mining pools. So this area in Metropolitan was perhaps a tin mine decades ago. I also remember the place to be a garbage dump area. Anyway the palce is now transformed and is a beautiful park with jogging/cycle track and nice landscape works. One circle round the track is about 4km - just ideal for a workout.

2012


It's the 3rd day of the new year and not too late to post new year resolution, just so that at this time of the year in 2013 we'll see if anything goes up (or down) for the better. Just one target to be put in writing here - to reduce weight from 80 to 75 kg. It's to be done over the course of a year surely is achieavable. With all the cycling program in regular fashion the only problem is tackling the mid-section. We'll see.
