Fallen Leaves

Fallen Leaves by Adeline Yen Mah. This true story about a rich chinese family spans many decades from the 30's to the end of the century. It is interesting to see how rich people make the whole world their stage, moveing from one country to another to escape from war, uncertainty or seeking better fortunes. How rich is this family? The man had a saving kept in a swiss bank in gold that weighs 2 tonnes.
The author's problems began after her father remarried - no guessing here - classic step-mother problems. However she managed to go to London to study & become a doctor & settled down in the US.

PIPR 8thEd.

8th edition of the Putrajaya Inter-Park Ride was successfully organised on May 8th. I assume everyone arrived safely for I did not ride the last 2 km - at the time we were about a km to my house, I was tired and the schorching sun was almost directly overhead. Overall it was a 27km ride for me. It must have been tough one for the many new riders I saw in the group. It would helped if we had started earlier (flag off was 8.30am) and that the bananas didn't run out at the first check point.
1,100 riders registered for the ride according to the organisers, this ride has a steady & large following now. The lucky draws were icing on the cake for lucky riders, some may need to nurse sore muscles for a couple of days.
