Suzuki Cup Finals

Malaysia was beaten 2-1 by Indonesia in Jakarta in the 2ng leg final of the Suzuki Cup. Having won the 1st leg 3-0 in KL last Sunday the Malaysian team thus declared the champions for the first time ever. Good for the country for football in this country has been in the doldrums for so long. But South-East Asia football have a long way to go before they can break into the world stage.

Ride in Wetland

This is about the 6th or 7th? time I ride in Putrajaya Wetland. There's a slight drizzle this morning and the temperature is cool. So the 7 of us went round the 17km loop in about 1 hr 20minutes. There's another group of 4 who went before us otherwise there's nobody else on the trail.

World Cup

So FIFA decided that the 2018 World Cup would be held in Russia and the 2022 edition in Qatar. The next World Cup finals in 2014 is to be held in Brazil.
FIFA have received a lot of criticisms for choosing Russia over England and Qatar over the USA. Technically England and USA are better prepared but FIFA is in adventure mood and want the world to see football played in more exotic places. A lot of negative comments have come out of England blaming FIFA & its executive committee for their unsuccessful bid that its appropriate to say that Englang is a sore loser.

Impressive Suvarnabhumi

The new Suvarnabhumi Airport at Bangkok is truly impressive. We were on transit on the way to Los Angeles last Nov 21st and had about 2 hrs to roam around. Signs are clear, lots of shops, spacious prayer room, toilets are numerous and easy to find. Lots of passengers too. Quite a long walk from the gates to baggage collection but long escalators help a lot.
