Merdeka!

6 days before independence day and our flag is up! That's about the only flag on our street. If every house would put up a flag there would be some kind of 'atmosphere'. As it is, independence day is kind of subdued.

People@Pasar Ramadan

Late afternoon last Sunday, pasar Ramadan at presint 2 was swarmed by people looking for food to buy. My first visit here this ramadan - I thought there weren't many people. On a leisurely Sunday people would cook their own food, right? Wrong. They instead throng this place and buy whatever. Some food stalls were obviously doing extremely good business - the queue was about a dozen people long.

Federal Highway

Considered myself lucky that I don't have to pass through this road everyday to & from work. Very heavy traffic most times though at about 12noon today traffic is not congested at all & our drive was smooth going. The good thing is the road geometry & road surface is in good condition and drivers are generally patient when using this road.

Wide roads

This is a particularly wide stretch of roadway which is on a bridge in Putrajaya. There's a 3-lane road for motor vehicles, a motorcycle lane and a wide pedestrian/cycle path. Same goes for the other side. It is hard to find spaces this generous in other parts of Putrajaya or any other places in the country. A few hundred meters down the road there's an interchange and the pedestrian/cycle path ends abruptly - they've run out of ideas on how to carry it across.
