Meetings.

Meetings are time consuming but necessary mostly. Got problem? Lets have a meeting. Lets have this meeting weekly, monthly, quarterly whatever. How about annual meeting? Lets make it a grand affair in some posh hotel. Some meetings we look forward to and some are not & should have asked someone else to go to instead. Nevertheless meetings are good places to meet people and establish networking.

High Water ... again

This is the usual route 1 km from home. Looks impassable & surely very deep underneath the rail bridge about 50m ahead. There's rain everyday for the past 2 weeks and it was very heavy the past two days. It was not that long ago that water risen to this level. I saw some houses in a nearby village surrounded by water & the owner has fled temporarily.

Ride to the office

It's about 6km to the office and 5km return on what I thought is the safest route to go to work & return home. The ride time was 20 minutes from home and 15 minutes return journey. That's about the same time going by car! But it's the day off and the road is not busy.

Canal lock in Sg.Besi

Canal locks are mostly in Europe, and there's of course the big locks in Panama Canal for the very big ships to pass through. Now I know there exist a lock in Sg.Besi.
Apparently there's a 7m difference in water level between the North & South Lakes (or is it East-West?!) so the boat from the Mines Shopping complex need to go through the lock to get to the bigger South lake & on to the Palace of Golden Horses. The 1hr round trip from the Mines Shopping Complex to the hotel and back costs RM28/per head.

Doli in Taiping

It's almost full house in Doli Restaurant in Taiping on Tuesday March 31st at 6.00pm. This is the famous Fried Kuey Teow with kerang in Jalan Tupai right in front of the new Government Health Clinic. Koay Teow special costs a "whopping" RM8 while the normal version costs RM3.50. The taste is exceptional - certainly worth the time and effort of coming out of the highway to eat at the place. Some of the patrons were obviously from out-of-town and were here because of the coming parliamentary by-elections. The flag war was very intense from the Changket Jering highway interchange to Simpang Empat and on towards Taiping.
