Level Crossing at Jalan Sultanah

They're at the moment building the second rail track, I believe all the way from Ipoh to Padang Besar. Around Alor Star I can see earthworks going on building embankments for the new track. About time we have a more modern rail system - this project is long overdue. I think compared to investments in road projects, rail projects got peanuts. At this level crossing in Jalan Sultanah I'm sure they will be building a flyover - road over rail bridge though there's no sign of its construction yet. A flyover would be a boon for motorists but the approach would block the view of people living in the houses nearby.

Plastic Water Meter

Now they are using plastic water meter extensively in Selangor. It looks like the conventional brass body ones previously used all over the country but this particular one has the word "meter plastik" written on it so that thieves would not take it away. We can expect other water authorities to follow suit. Notice the stop-cock used is made of brass - would those thieves take that away?

New Folding Bicycle

Just acquired a new toy! I've been eyeing this kind of bike for some time and I found one in Taman Melawati the Dahon Mu P8. At RM1760 it's not cheap but not that expensive either, the top end bike costs more than RM4,000.00 - one could get a motorbike at that price.
I hope to do more cycling and to places that I could not before. It weighs just a bit over 11kg and folded it can fit nicely in the car boot.
