Oh no.!

Thieves are at it again. Steel grill covering a manhole was taken away and someone put up these things to prevent vehicles from falling into this gaping hole right in the middle of the road. It's been so for past 2 weeks and the authorities have been slow to react. Things that are happening around us!.

UPDATE 27th April 2006.

Today the authority patched up the hole (sealed) with concrete. So while it's safe, there's no access for maintenance of the culvert below.

Taxi in Kajang

At the taxi stand in Kajang town center there are always taxis on standby. On Monday for the second time I had to take this same old, rattling Mazda 626 which was at the head of the queue. The trip to Putrajaya took 20 minutes and the fare RM30.00. Taxis here don't use meters, just standard fares and they'll give you a receipt if you ask for it. If the meter system is used I'm sure it'll cost less. Just for the record, the previous evening's ride from KLIA to Kajang costs RM58.10 and the cab was in a much better condition.

Big picture of the man

Out with the old, in with the new. Now we can see the pictures of the new MB dotted around town with the normal congratulatory message. This one near the junction to Wisma Darul Aman (State Government Office Complex) looks like the biggest.
