2006 Australian Open

Watching the Australia Open currently under way, one cannot help but notice the fashionable outfits used by the women players. I think it was the Williams sisters that set the trend when they came into the scene a few years ago. Now, the most watchable in my opinion is the Russian player Maria in baby-doll outfit. With matching slim figures and pretty face she is a feast to the eyes. She is not the only one in baby-doll dress today, Karolina Sprem, wears similar outfit though she lost her match to Ms Davenport. Maria, by the way did won her match in straight sets so we can see more of her in this tournament. Compared to women badminton players, these tennis players dressed better. Come to think of it, some women badminton players’ outfits are a drab. Once, Gunalan did make a comment on the matter and I kind of agree though they need not follow some of their tennis counterparts which are considered too sexy, dressed to kill.

Divide and Rule

Divide and rule: used by colonial powers to rule a country also is applicable when one needs to control an organisation. Intentional or not, it does seem to work every time. When in power use it to gain maximum benefit, lose a few friends so what?

New Things

Changes are imminent this new year. Even if I don't make them, the situation warrants it and I think it is going to be an eventful year as far as I am concern. Some possibilities are: moving office, switch jobs, new scope of works (work description?), changes at workplace, new car, new house/move house, well the list can go on and on. Run a plant hands-on, that's what I do first. This is a major undertaking and I am going to get all my subordinates to be involved in this. The experienced and the inexperienced, they are all to get in together and master the operations, get their hands dirty - that's the best teacher.

New Year 2006

New year went past quickly enough. It has been an eventful December, I think that's the reason the new year went past and for me not feeling it, and of course January 1st is not a holiday here in Kedah. First the floods that cause some disruption to our life having to leave the house for two days and stayed in a hotel. Then before the water was dry we left the house and went for a 2 nights' holiday in Langkawi. Came back with all those shopping and then had to start cleaning. Luckily the water did not reached the floor level though it came to within 2 inches if it. All through the last week and the weekend we had to shift office - that means packing, hauling and unpacking which I have not finish to this day - takes a lot of energy. Then Last Thursday we had an unpleasant news in the office which really stresses us as a group. It is simply not good at all - now we need differentiate between friend and foe.
Not a good start to the year.
